Winter storms, fall winds, and summer downpours present great problems for the roofs of our homes. To keep your home safe and dry, count on our team of experienced roofing specialist!

Our roof suddenly started to leak. What should we do?

When that roof leaks for the first time, we can find ourselves in a difficult and unexpected situation.

  • Prevent Further Damage – Prevent further damage is always the rule. Remove personal belongings and furniture from the affected area. Try to collect any continuous drips in containers of some kind. Do not allow water to stand on windowsills and the floor. Mop or wipe those areas continuously.
  • Contact 1-800-Roofcare – As soon as you can, contact 1-800-Roofcare. We will send a team of roofers to your home as soon as we possibly can to find a solution to the leak. In these emergency situations our initial work on the first visit may not be a permanent fix, and our roofers may have to return in order to fully restore your roof.

Personal safety always comes first. Do not climb onto your roof. Leave that to the professionals.

What services does 1-800-Roofcare provide?

We are a full-service roofing company. Here are some of the services that we provide:

  • Maintenance – Our maintenance program is works well to extend the life of your home’s roof. Annually we will inspect your home’s roof, looking for areas of concern and repairs that need to be made. We will make some repairs as part of the inspection. We will report larger concerns to you, and work with you as to how to resolve those problems. It is far more cost effective to prevent leaks, than to take care of them after they have caused hundreds or thousands of dollars of damage.
  • Repairs – Our experienced roofing teams can handle any type of roofing repair. From shingle replacement to flashing reattachment to sealing seams, our roofers can do it all.
  • Roof Replacements – When the time comes for the old roof to finally be replaced, we can do it. We will replace your old roof with your choice of roofing material, and leave your yard and home without a nail or a piece of roofing material left behind, cluttering your yard.

Can you work with our flat top roof?

Absolutely! Flat roofs are still very common in the Quincy area. Once, rolled asphalt roofing seemed to be the only choice. Today, asphalt still remains, but there are various synthetic rubber roofing materials available. Each is a little different, and our roofing experts can work with you to determine which would be the best in your given situation.

Do we have other roofing options other than what we now have?

A homeowner can always choose to replace an existing roof with a different type of roofing material. The key, however, is not all roofing materials are suitable for every roof. Sharply sloping roofs are suitable for shingles, certain tile roofs, and metal. Flat or low profile roofs will need to have rolled roofing or synthetic rubber material to effectively waterproof your home’s roof. Before changing to a tile roofing system, you should have structural support system of your home evaluated to be sure that it is strong enough to support the added weight from the tile system.

  • Tile – Tile roofing systems have been used for hundreds of years. Slate tile roofs were used in Europe and the concept quickly moved to this country. Clay tile is now common in most parts of the country, and as well as cement tiles. Tile roofs provide decades of protection for your home. Today, most tile roofs have an underlayment that serves as a waterproof seal, and then the tiles form a second layer of protection for your home. The biggest drawback to tile systems is that they limit the amount of activity that can occur on the roof. Any additional weight could cause tiles to break, exposing the underlayment to the elements, and reducing the lifespan of the roof.
  • Shingle – Shingle roofs can be either of asphalt material or of wood. Although, both metal roofing is now available shingle type units, as well as solar roofing now comes in a roofing shingle. The traditional asphalt shingle is what we most commonly see in the Quincy area. This type of system can offer a wide variety of colors and designs. The homeowner can expect to experience up to twenty years of serviceable wear from this type of roof. Wooden shingles are usually cedar. The coloration and style fits well into our New England design and landscape.
  • Metal – Roofing metals include steel, aluminum, and copper. Steel and aluminum come in a variety of colors and designs. The lifespan of this type of roof can be over fifty years with copper roofs easily providing a hundred years or more of service.
