Is Your Roof Leaking In Boise, Idaho?

Leaks are not just annoying; they can lead to long-term and serious water damage throughout your home.  Oftentimes a leak is a limited problem caused by minimal damage to a single spot on a roof, but it can also be a symptom of a much larger problem.  What may seem like an annoying drip during the summer may turn into complete roof collapse under the weight of an Idaho snowstorm.  Unless you are a trained roofing professional, it can be very difficult to tell the true extent of roof-related problems and what needs to be done to solve them.  Luckily, 1-800-Roofcare is here to help.

Who Is 1-800-Roofcare?

We are a network of independently-owned roof maintenance and repair facilities.  Our members come from across the United States, including Boise.  We are dedicated to providing our customers with high quality service from licensed contractors, which is why we are so selective on who we let join.  All 1-800-Roofcare members must be licensed and insured, and not just anyone can join.  We only allow one roofing company to join per county, excluding more than 98% of all potential members.  When you choose 1-800-Roofcare, you know that you are getting a qualified professional who meets our national standards.

What Roofing Services Do 1-800-Roofcare Affiliated Companies Perform?

Our members are capable of providing the full range of roof care services, including:

  • Roof Inspection
  • Roof Condition Analysis
  • Preparation of Repair Quotes
  • Roof Repair
  • Roof Replacement
  • Roof Maintenance

Why Do I Need Roof Maintenance?

The answer is because it saves you time and money later.  Roof companies guarantee that their products will last for a certain amount of time, normally between 20 to 50 years.  However, when confronted with the actual conditions of Boise, those guarantees may not mean as much as you had hoped.  Snow going through fits of melting and refreezing in the early spring can expand and contract the inner portions of a roof and cause premature levels of decay.  Animals ranging from raccoons to termites can chew through wood, causing irreversible damage in the process.  High seasonal winds can tear through aging roofing material.  Most of this damage takes place without us knowing it, making periodic inspections highly beneficial.  1-800-Roofcare recommends that our clients have their roofs inspected bi-annually to ensure that everything is in order.  By regularly checking for damage and quickly and cheaply repairing small problems as they arise, severe problems will be nipped in the bud and the life expectancy of the roof will be increased.

How Much Will Roof Repair or Roof Maintenance Cost?

That entirely depends on the nature of your roof and the damage that it exhibits.  Some factors that influence cost include:

  • Extent of the Damage. Some leaks are caused by no more than a loose flashing or a small hole created by squirrels seeking shelter.  When the damage is limited, the cost will probably be limited as well.  On the other hand, your entire roof might be at the end of its life expectancy and will need to be entirely replaced, a far costlier proposition.
  • Size of the Roof. In cases where the roof must be replaced, a larger roof will be more expensive to replace than a smaller one and vice versa.
  • Type of Roof. There is a substantial variation in the cost of various roofing materials and the amount of labor necessary to remove and replace them.  Often the materials which are the least expensive to purchase are the same ones which must be replaced the most frequently.  This means that what might seem like a bargain initially may end up costing significantly more in the long run.  Generally, asphalt shingles are among the least expensive materials, but their life expectancy is also comparatively low.  On the other hand, slate tiles are one of the most expensive materials, but also have one of the longest lifespans.
